Description:
In the era of top break revolvers, this Smith & Wesson made the best. Their double action model was introduced in 1880. The internal mechanism of these guns was somewhat more complicated than other contemporary designs, and their price was about triple the average of the time. Quality sells though and they were very popular. Many of them are still in everyday use even though the cartridge they fire are of marginal power by today's standards. The 6 inch barrel is a desirable and very collectable barrel size. This gun has about 50% original blue. The grips are in excellent condition. The .38 S&W cartridge is still available. Action works nicely with the bore showing sharp bright rifling. This is an ANTIQUE and can be shipped directly to you. Sold as an Antique ~ no guarantees, warranties, or liabilities for any actual usage. If any firearms are to be used for shooting purposes, a qualified gunsmith should inspect them first.
