A U.S. Civil War Military Issued "H. Aston & Co." Marked Model 1842 Percussion Pistol Dated 1851 In Good Plus Untouched Condition. All original throughout. Only 6,000 were made with these Aston markings in 1851 and 1852. The pistol has good metal and markings. The lock is marked "US/H.ASTON & CO." It is dated 1851 on both the lock and barrel. Barrel is also marked "US/WN/P". The pistol has very good wood and edges. It has two U.S. Inspectors Cartouches on the back side. The pistol has very good brass hardware on it. It has a good action and bore. The front sight is missing and was probably lost during its use in the war as the patina is the same throughout the entire barrel. This Is A Good Looking Example Of A "H. Aston & Co." Marked Model 1842 Civil War Percussion Pistol That Was Definitely Used In The Civil War!
