Shipping is actual cost with a minimum of $30.00 for pistols and $50.00 for rifles/shotguns to ship to most of the 48 contiguous states. Shipping to Alaska may require an extra fee. Much like its progenitor, the KSG, the KS7 created astir in gun circles when it was introduced. Even today, some still claim the KSG is a little overcomplicated due to the twin magazine tube and its associated feed system, as well as being fairly heavy. To meet these claims head on, Kel-Tec designed the KS7. The KS7 features a single magazine and as a result, is certainly much lighter than the KSG. It features an elevated rib which also functions as a carry handle, its appearance reminiscent of that used on the French FAMAS assault rifle. Most of the controls on the KS7 are identical to those on the KSG such as the manual safety, bolt release lever, and the trigger. So far, the KS7 has been very popular, and even won the 2020 American Rifleman Shotgun of the Year award. Although bullpup shotguns are now more common than when the KSG was introduced, the KS7’s appearance still manages to make it stand out compared to the competition. Depending upon the choice of shell size, the KS7 can hold 6 or 7 shells in the tube. The 18.5” barrel provides the same velocity as other home defense shotguns in a package that is just over feet in length compared to say, the Mossberg 590 which can be from 31 to 38-5/8 inches long (depending on the stock configuration) with the same barrel length, gauge, and ammo capacity. Another neat feature of the KS7, as well as the KSG, is that due to the fact the shotgun ejects empty shells downward, it can be used by a left-handed shooter as well as a right-handed shooter. This new in the box KS7 is very well suited for home defense or backwoods hiking.
