On Hold Sale Pending. Springfield Model 1872 Rolling Block Rifle appears to be 50-70 caliber. Receiver is marked US Springfield 1872, left side marked model 1871. The 36" barrel is secured by 2 barrel bands. Breach tang has the standard address. The wood stock has numerous dents dings and light cracks. The but plate is marked US. Metal parts are bright with some brown patina and light pitting in places. The bore shows pretty good rifling with wear. Both front and long range Springfield rear sights are present.
