We offer you a “Restored” Cased Ithaca Gun Co. Knick Grade 5E 12 Gauge Engraved Double with 30″ barrels, ejectors, single trigger, beavertail forend with the factory letter. The factory letter states serial number 450084 is a grade 5 with 30” barrels, ejectors and all extras. December 1927 - High Grade for Knick, March 5, 1928 for Von Lengerke & Antoine and shipped April 13, 1928. The restorations project cost thousands of dollars, but as you can see it was money well spent. The shotgun looks and is in amazing condition. It is 94 years old and comes with the Ithaca labeled leather case as shown. As far as we can determine the shotgun is in original configuration as shown. The 30 inch barrels have mint bores and the chambers are 2 ¾ inch. Both measure right at .693 and read full with our choke gauge. The receiver has fine floral motif engraving throughout with a platinum woodcock on the right face with a platinum pheasant on the left. The water table is marked “450084 / 5 / 12”. The exterior of the bottom plate is engraved with an eagle clutching a bundle of arrows and marked in the scroll work “MADE IN U.S.A. / ITHACA GUN CO. ITHACA, N.Y.”. The interior of the forend bracket is marked “403074 / 5”. The bottom of the barrels are marked “BEST FLUID STEEL” and the barrel flat is marked “450084 5” with some proof marks. The action lug is marked “S” “R” with two small proof marks and “NITRO POWDER PROVED”. The bottom of the trigger guard is gold inlayed with the initials “WRG” or “RWG” depending on how you read them, followed by the serial number “450084”. The stocks are both in excellent condition with no cracks or chips. Both are highly figured as you would expect on a grade “5” gun. They both show the grade “5” Fleur De Lis checkering panels, accents with fancy borders. The finishes on both are in excellent condition as you can see in the pictures. The drop at comb is 1 1/2” and the drop at heel is 2 5/8”. The LOP measures 14 7/8” from the front of the trigger to the back of the recoil pad that is in excellent condition and marked “GALAZAN”.
