Description:
This is an original Civil War Model 1858 Canteen in untouched condition. The canteen is fabric covered and intact with a few small pieces missing there is a stamp on the fabric “165”. There is a fabric strap that is stamped (T.F. Bayles / U.S. Inspector). The canteens original cork stopper is missing but all metal parts are intact and present. The neck of the canteen is maker marked with initials (J.C Johnson & Co. / Feb 5, 1865). Please contact me with any questions.
