On Hold Sale Pending Half stock circa 1850 Kentucky/ Pennsylvania rifle lock marked A.B. Semple & Brothers, Louisville. They are listed in the database of USA Gunmakers. The 35.5" rifled barrel is dark brown with both front and rear sights present. The bore has good rifling and is about 44 caliber and has good rifling but needs cleaning. The barrel is medium weight about 1 1/16 " across at the muzzle. The tiger stripe half stock is probably maple and has a repair in front of the lock, a couple cracks and chip near the German silver (I think) nose cap (see photos). The brass patch box trigger gaurd, and but plate have a nice light brown patina. The lock/set triggers functions as they should. A nice old Kentucky percussion rifle.
