Description:
On Hold Sale Pending .Early Indian wars Springfield model 1873 Trapdoor 45-70 caliber army rifle.  This rifle appears to have all the correct features of a early long wrist Model 1873 army rifle.  The functioning  lock is marked US Springfield 1873 with the American eagle and 2 click tumbler.  The full length 2 band dark walnut stock is in very good condition and both ESA cartouche and circle P fireing cartouche showing normal wear.   The full length 32" barrel has front and correct first model rear sight held by slottless screws.  The  correct tight high arch breach block is marked US Model 1873 with the eagle head has a strong extraction system and the spring in the firing pin.   The bore is bright with good rifling.   The metal parts have most of there smooth blue original finish starting to turn brown and thin in places.  The gun is complete and I believe correct with both sling swivels and original cleaning rod.  Overall a very good to fine original early long wrist trapdoor rifle which functions well.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions.  Shipping will be actual cost by usps insured priority mail with tracking.  On Hold Sale Pending
