US civil war 1861 contract musket by E. Robinson, New York dated 1863. The dark 2 band walnut stock is in good condition with 2 cartouches but has been shortened about 12"s and one band. The full length 58 caliber barrel has both front and rear sights. The poor bore appears to have rifling but looks rusty and needs clearning. The nipple is broken. The lock functions and is marked 1863 and E. Robbinson, New York. All metal parts have a dark brown color with scattered pitting. This gun is in attic found condition and although the top 12 inches of stock is missing both sling swivels and ramrod are present. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
