Payment Types Accepted: M/C, VISA, American Express and Discover Description: " Approximately 70,000 11mm Japanese centerfire Type 18 rifles were manufactured by the Koishikawa (Tokyo) Arsenal from 1885 to March 1889. The overall length is 50 7/16"". The 32 3/16"" barrel has a fine bore with bright, strong rifling. The barrel and receiver have approx. 95% blue-brown patina. The serial number is matching on the barrel, receiver, and trigger housing. As is usual, the bolt does not match. The royal chrysanthemum has been overstruck with the school symbol and the serial number has a 00 prefix which also indicates school use. The characters on the left side of the receiver translate to ""Great Nippon Empire Murata Rifle"" and those on the right are ""Meiji 18 Year"". The stock is very good with multiple issue dents and dings but no cracks or chips. The swivels and ramrod (may be a replacement) are present. The action functions correctly. Decent Type 18 rifles are hard to find. This one will nicely fill that pesky hole in your collection. SOLD Antique: Yes |
