Description: Serial #364730, 6" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a handsome little revolver that has matching numbers on the frame, barrel, cylinder, yoke, and extractor, with the metal retaining 98-99% of the original blue finish that has only some trace silvering along some of the high edges and projections. The hammer and trigger retain a commensurate amount of the original color case-hardening, with some mild fading along the edges, and the original checkered walnut, diamond-center grips are pencil-numbered to the gun on the interior, and are in excellent shape, having only minor flattening of the points, and a few negligible handling marks. The lock-up is tight, and the action functions flawlessly. The revolver is accompanied by a 2021 dated S&W Historical Foundation letter that lists a shipping date of October 16, 1922, to Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett & Co. of Chicago IL. The gun was listed as having a Patridge front sight, but now has an earlier Paine style target sight. This is an excellent example of a little-used "Bekeart" type revolver, and would make a great addition to any collection.
