This rifle (with a first year of production, 1904-made receiver) has an "SA / 8-42" dated WW2 barrel. The barrel has 70-75% of the original parkerized finish remaining, while the receiver has a commensurate amount of Du-Lite blue remaining. The single heat treated, straight-handled bolt has a matching finish with some silvering along the edges and bearing surfaces, and fading on the handle. The unmarked, Type C walnut stock is in about good condition, with numerous small handling marks and blemishes throughout, as well as a series of peen marks intentionally added to the knurled steel buttplate. A WW2 khaki M1 sling is fitted. This is an interesting rifle, with a very early Rock Island '03 receiver, and would make a neat addition to a collection of American military longarms.
