This is an original Indian War era Frazier's Cartridge Box - shoulder strap pattern for New York National Guard. This is not a field modification but factory made. It was meant to be used with the Indian War era carbine strap. The cartridge box is in nice untouched condition. The box is marked inside: Frazier's Patent FEBY 5th 1872 REISSUED MCH 15 1878 PATENT APRIL 23RD 1878. It is also marked: RIDBOCK & CO./ successors to: J.H.
