Payment Types Accepted: Certified Check, Postal Money Order, Personal Check Description: This exceptional LC Smith 2E 12-gauge shotgun was manufactured in 1905. Its 30-inch fluid steel barrels have 2-3/4-inch chambers. The right barrel is choked light modified (.015”) and the left full (.035”). The bore diameters at 9 inches from the breech are both .729, and the outside diameters at the muzzle are both .815. The wall thicknesses (top/side/bottom) for the right barrel at 9” from muzzle are .035/.030/.030 and at the middle of the barrel are .035/.030/.030. The wall thicknesses of the left barrel are .031/.027/.032 and .031/.027/.030, respectively. The exteriors of the barrels and bores are flawless, as reconditioned. The engraving on the sideplates is sharp and on the receiver somewhat softened where it would have been carried in the field. The beautiful highly-figured American-walnut stock is reconditioned by drawing out any petroleum-based oils that have accumulated over 117 years and replenishing the natural oils through the application of a hand-rubbed stock-oil finish. The wood beneath the receive and behind the locks is solid. The drop at the comb is 1-1/2” and at the heel 2-1/2”. Length of pull from the front trigger to the end of a period Jostam pad is 14-1/2”. Cast is neutral. The gun weighs 7 pounds 7 ounces. The ejectors function properly. The gun locks up tightly and is on face. Both triggers pull at 4-1/2 pounds. All serial numbers, 204302, match. The price does not include shipping cost, which is paid by buyer. The inspection period is 10 days from receipt. The gun has been fired using standard factory 2-3/4” target loads on many occasions. However, as for any antique or vintage shotgun, it is recommended that the new owner have it inspected by his or her gunsmith before firing. SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
