One of 3 lever actions I am selling on consignment for a close friend who has stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer. No trades on this one. Priced to move quickly as time for this man is short, and he is trying to get things squared away before moving on.
Winchester Model 1892 rifle caliber 38 WCF aka 38-40, 24" octagon barrel, button mag, plain walnut stocks, plain trigger, good bore with well-defined rifling and typical minor scattered black powder roughness but no rings, no craters, no bulges or deep pitting, fine action, properly working half cock safety, crescent rifle butt, open sights. Uncommon to find a full octagon rifle with a button mag as the button mags usually had round or part octagon barrels. Serial number 601xxx made in 1911. Stocks have been lightly cleaned, sanded and have linseed oil added, as well as typical minor nicks and scratches from hunting use. Bluing has drifted to a mix of gray and patina with stronger blue in the protected areas. No replacement parts. Solid collectible and hunter/shooter.
