Description:
The item for sale is a Savage 99 Rifle chambered for the .308 cartridge. This is a Savage Model 99R. The serial number is 932117 which indicates a manufacturing date of 1957. This is an early 308 as this cartridge was introduced in 1956. The barrel blue is 90-95% with some minor specks in the blue. The receiver is 75-80% with fading and minor edge wear. The forearm and stock are in very good condition, no cracks, cut checkering and minor handling marks from usage. A finish has been added to the wood. The receiver is tapped for a scope. The rifle retàins the original butt plate. The rifle features a serràted trigger, sling eyes, rotary magazine and the safety on the lever. It is in mechanically excellent condition. The bore is very good. The Savage 99 in 308 Winchester is a great hunting rifle. Please add $45 for shipping and insurance. A FFL copy is required prior to shipping.
