Payment Types Accepted: Money Order, Check Certified Description: The item for sale is a Savage 1899F saddle-ring carbine chambered in the 30-30 caliber. The serial number is 102097 which indicates a manufacturing date of 1909. This should not be confused with the model 99 carbines. The 1899 saddle ring in 30-30 is rare. The carbine is fitted with a blade front sight, a filler in the rear dovetail and a Marbles tang sight. This is an attractive carbine with walnut stock and forearm. The forearm is in very good condition no cracks or scratches and a finish added. Likewise, the butt stock is very good. There is what appears to be a scratch in the wood at the upper tang. This could possibly be a hairline crack but we do not believe so based upon the irregular shape (path) of the line. The walnut butt stock is nicely figured with a finish added as with the forearm. The butt stock is fitted with the original butt plate. The 20" barrel retains approx 80 - 85% blue and is marked "model 1899". The receiver is not tapped for a scope mount and retains 70 - 75% original blue. Nice case colors remain on the lever. The carbine features the correct perch belly stock used on these early carbines. A very attractive carbine with a nice bore. Please include $45 to cover shipping and insurance. A FFL copy is required prior to shipping.
