Description:
FINE CONDITION 1892 SADDLE RING CARBINE IN .25-20, #973XXX, MADE 1926. This is a fairly late carbine made just a few years before the Great Depression. It has correct late markings including the "MODEL 92" on the left side of the barrel and retains fine blue on the barrel and magazine that shows minor wear only. The receiver blue is getting that flaked to plum look typical of 1920s Winchesters but still shows some good blue around the saddle ring, rear portion of the right side, around the hammer, loading gate and excellent deep blue on the bolt. Walnut stock and forend show normal very light handling with very tight wood to metal fit. Standard carbine sights with correct ladder rear sight with slide intact. Tight action with strong half cock safety notch on the hammer and bright excellent bore. Fine example,
