Here is a rather scarce 1976 vintage Winchester Model 12 Y series which has been customized by H.G. Orre. H.G. Orre was an employee of Winchester and was very influential in the world of trapshooting during his life. During his time at Winchester, Herb Orre was instrumental in design changes of the Model 12 and the development of the Winchester Model 21 shotgun, which was named after his age at the time. After he retired from Winchester, Mr. Orre started his gunsmithing shop where he began his career in Model 12 customization and custom choke work. Mr. Orre is known for many things such as his excellent choke work and his extreme skill at repairing all types of firearms, but he is best known for his choke work on Winchester Model 12's. His Super Choke was designed for 16-yard trap shooting and helped enhance the pattern of the shot as well as helping aid the shooter in their ability to break clay targets. This particular Model 12 has had custom work done by H.G. Orre which includes an action job, trigger job, and the Super Choke installed. This 1976 manufactured Model 12 is in great overall condition and features a 30" barrel, factory ventilated rib, Monte Carlo checkered walnut stock, checkered walnut forend, jeweled bolt, and gloss blue finish. The gloss blue finish across this shotgun is in great condition except for scattered signs of once-removed surface rust, light scuffing on the receiver, and typical wear on the magazine tube. The checkered walnut stock and forend are in equally as great condition, with no signs of cracks, chips, or repairs, just various scattered handling marks. The bolt and lifter retain almost all of their jeweled finish except for light wear. The bore is bright and the action is buttery smooth. The trigger breaks like glass and all mechanical aspects of the shotgun function 100%. The front bead has been replaced with a red fiber optic front bead.
