18th Century EUROPEAN Antique FLINTLOCK Fighting Pistol by CADEL 52 Caliber
Late 1700s to Early 1800s Self Defense Pistol
Here we present an antique European Flintlock Pistol by Cadel, made circa the late 1700s to the early 1800s. This one bears no other markings but the signed name on the lock. However, the name is Welsh in origin. This pistol has a fairly large frame and a heavy barrel. This pistol is large enough to have been of military use, such as a sidearm or it may have just been for civilian use. It is rather Spartan and purpose-built with attractive contours on the iron hardware and modest engraving on the pommel. The barrel is multi-faceted and the stock is full-length.
The overall condition is very good. The iron parts have a patina. The stock shows use yet remains in nice condition. The action is nice and crisp. The screw of the top jaw of the flint holder is a bit short as it has broken off but it still threads into the cock. The bore is smooth with a patina. A nice, full-sized fighting pistol!
