Description:
Mauser model S/42, caliber is not stamped on firearm. This is an excellent example of an early pre-WWII German Luger pistol manufactured by the Mauser factory. These were the standard service pistols used all German troops, Wehrmacht, SS, Luftwaffe and Navy forces during WWII. The chamber is dated "1938", and it has the secret wartime code of "S/42" for the Mauser factory on the front toggle. It has the "GESICHERT" safety marking. It has the early salt blued metal finish on all the parts, and it is fitted with checkered walnut grips. It is complete with a blued, unmarked folded sheet metal magazine with an aluminum base. It has matching numbers on all the parts except the magazine. The caliber is not stamped on the firearm, but is most probably 9mm luger. Unknown
