An Early 1840's To 1850's Civil War Deluxe "G.R. Collis" Improved Revolving Pepperbox Percussion Pistol In Its Original Case With Accessories All In Fine To Excellent Condition. Serial #175, All original and complete. It is fully British Proofed. The Pistol has excellent metal, markings, and deluxe factory engraving on it. The frame is marked on one side, "G.R. COLLIS/MAKER/28 CHURCH ST./BIRMINGHAM". The other side is marked, "IMPROVED REVOLVING PISTOL". The frame, hammer, backstrap, and trigger guard all have fine deluxe engraving on them. All of the metal on the gun retains case colors throughout with some areas thinning into an even pleasant patina. The deluxe burl grips are minty throughout. The pistol has an excellent action and bore. The pistol measures 8 1/2 inches in length. The deluxe factory made contoured case is excellent throughout with all of its original accessories which are also in excellent condition. There is a large silver shield with an English Castle Tower on it on the top of the box. This is most likely a family crest that should be researched. This Is A Wonderful And All Complete Early Deluxe Cased Pepperbox Pistol That Would Be A Wonderful Addition To Any Fine Collection!
