A U.S. Civil War Remington Model 1863 Zouave Rifle In Fine Condition. All original and complete. The rifle has fine metal and markings throughout. The lock has clear "Eagle/U.S.",and "Remington/Ilion, N.Y. markings to the right of the hammer and is dated 1863 on the back of it. The barrel is marked, "V/P/Eagle Head" and is also dated 1863. The barrel retains all of its original factory blue finish. The hammer and lock have darkened colors which are fading to a plum color. All of the brass hardware is fine throughout. All of the wood on the gun is fine throughout with nice edges. There are two very clear and crisp U.S. Inspectors Cartouches on the backside. The barrel has an excellent and bright bore in it. It has a fine action. This Is A Fine Looking Example Of A U.S. Civil War Remington Model 1863 Zouave Rifle!
