Featuring cast brass triangular blade with large cut-out heart and high bowel; nickel-plated for presentation. Diamond eve filled with lead and punched cross design with smoke hole clean-out plug. Head 8 3/4' long with 3 3/8 cutting edge. Wood haft decorated with old brass tacks at the upper end. incised line pattern, and large brass tack with incised ring around smoking hole. Typical high bowl with hexagon ring on top. Rare nickel finish makes a superb show piece. Featured in Volume 8, "Who's Who In Indian Relics" page 181. From the Dr. Victor Neu Collection of American west weapons. One of the finest as well as the rarest Plains Indian weapons known to exist. Also featured in Lar Hothem's "Rare and Unusual Indian Artifacts page 263. Overall length with haft 17 1/2".
