Description:
This is a custom Ruger Mark1. From the front of the frame back it's all vintage 1970 Mark 1. The barrel is a match grade Shilen blank custom turned for accuracy and balance. Cut and crowned at 13.5 inches. A from scratch quarter rib was made from Starrett low carbon square stock. The rib is mounted to the barrel, not the reciever. The Talley rings have been altered with Heilmann Clamping Screws installed and the rings have been lapped for maximum alignment. Weight with the average pistol scope would be 5 approx. This pistol will shoot rifle quality groups at 100 yards.
Originally built for shooting ground squirrels from a motor vehicle ( yes it was legal ) this is just an all around fun pistol to shoot. With the 13.5 inch balanced barrel, accurate rapid fire shots are not uncommon. This pistol also comes with the original barrel and wrench for rings. All work by Steve Heilmann
