Description:
The barrel markings are a little light, with only the BEALS’ PAT portion of the upper line that read 'Beals’ Patent Sept, 14, 1858' still legible, and only the ghost of the lower line which read 'Manufactured by Remington's’ Ilion, N.Y.' even visible. The serial number 11332 is clearly marked on the bottom of the barrel (hidden by the loading lever) and the same number appears on the frame, under the grips.
The 7 ½” octagon barrel retains relatively crisp edges and good lines. The brass trigger guard has an attractive, un-cleaned mustard patina, and the original German silver cone front site is in place in the dovetail at the end of the barrel. The action of the pistol remains crisp and tight and the revolver times, indexes and locks up, as it should.
The two piece walnut grips are ne, except for a single minor repair to the left grip panel. It appears that the original piece of wood was used in the repair.
Overall this is a really good looking example of a fairly scarce Remington revolver. The gun has a great look, lots of eye appeal and is in well above average condition.
This is a nice, complete and original example that was not left in a field somewhere and is very reasonably priced. Cerified check, or PayPal. Buyer pays shipping.
