Description:
Winchester model 52B Sporting .22 lr bolt action rifle made in 1955. This iconic 52 Sporter outside of the blue thinning on the bolt knob is just about as pristine as it was when it left Winchester 66 years ago.
The “B” sporting is recognized by the fact that there are no scope mount holes in the top of the receiver; that the word SPORTING is on the bottom of the floor plate and of course, the “B” suffix to the serial number. When these Sporters were made their design was such that it would complement the Model 70 Super Grade with the ebony forearm tip, super grade sling swivels, the checkered steel butt plate, the hooded brass bead front sight and the overall feel and balance. Consequently the 52 Sporters were considerably more expensive than most other .22’s of the era and significantly fewer were made.
So here is a collectible quality 52B Sporting in 98%+ overall condition.
