SOLD PENDING FUNDS New Price 6/28/ 22 $1350. Last and Final Price before it is Delisted Savage 99G Deluxe Takedown 300 Savage, 24 inch, Excellent Condition, built in 1925 with matching serial numbers 274994. This rifle features a beautiful rubbed varnish checkered walnut buttstock with capped pistol grip, straight checkered forearm with schnabel tip, and serrated steel shotgun buttplate with oval Savage insignia. It is fitted with an adjustable flat top rear sporting sight, dovetailed white metal front sight into base integral with the barrel. It has the brass cartridge counter, cocking indicator, is drilled and tapped for a receiver sight, and has a beauiful case hardened lever, and grooved trigger.
The rifle retains 98% of the original blue with a few minor fading spots on the underside of the barrel near the muzzle. The lever shows 96% of vivid case colors. The rubbed varnish walnut is very fine at 96% with some light handling marks and minor rub marks on the right side of the buttstock. Checkering is sharp. The 15 pictures tell the whole story. Mechanically excellent with clean bore.
Overall this 99G commands a PPGS rating of excellent at 96-98% in all areas. This 97 year old beauty built in the 3rd year of 99G Deluxe production is a very fine example of one of America's classic rifles. $1350 plus packing, shipping, and insurance.
