Payment Types Accepted: Checks, Credit Cards, PayPal Description: A U.S. Civil War Military Issued "I.N. Johnson" Marked Model 1842 Percussion Pistol Dated 1855 On The Lock In Nice Untouched Condition. All original and complete. The pistol has nice metal and markings throughout it. The lock is marked in front of the hammer "US/I N JOHNSON", and "MIDDTH/CONN/1855" At The Rear. The barrel is U.S. Inspected "US/JCP/P", and is dated "1846" on the tang. Johnson was partners with Ames but left to set up his own prodution facility. He assembled his pistols in the mid 1850's and bought parts from Ames. This explains the difference between the lock and barrel dates. All of the metal on the pistol has an even natural patina on it. The brass hardware is fine with a nice mellow color to it. All screws are fine. The wood is fine throughout with nice edges and a pleasant color. There is an old period tight repair in the grip that was definitely done during its early use. It is barely noticeable. The pistol has a fine bore and very good action. This Is A Fine Looking Example Of A U.S. Military Johnson Model 1842 Single Shot Pistol Made in 1855! SOLD Manufacturer: I.N. Johnson Model: Model 1842 Condition: Very Nice untouched Condition |
