Description:
A U.S. Civil War Remington Model 1863 Zouave Percussion Rifle In Nice Untouched Condition. All original and complete. The rifle has fine metal and markings throughout. The lock has clear "Eagle/U.S.",and "Remington/Ilion, N.Y. markings to the right of the hammer and is dated 1863 on the back of it. The barrel is marked, "V/P/Eagle Head" and is also dated 1863. The barrel retains lots of its original factory blue finish with some small ares turning to a plum brown color. The hammer and lock have a darkened patina on them along with hints of original color in spots. All of the brass hardware is nice throughout. All of the wood on the gun is fine throughout with nice edges. There are two very clear and crisp U.S. Inspectors Cartouches on the backside. The barrel has an excellent and bright bore in it. It has a fine action. This Is A Very Nice Looking Example Of A U.S. Civil War Remington Model 1863 Zouave Rifle!
