Description:
SOLD. REDUCED Colt M1851 martially marked revolver in good overall condition. Some finish on  protected areas. All matching serial numbers except the loading lever. U.S. marked on left side of frame. Inspectors initials on triggerguard easily visible, very faint but present on backstrap. Wood grips are very good with only minor "toe" loss on each. Cartouches are not really visible on the grips anymore. Research by Civil War Weapons Search indicates a range match ( by serial number) for the 1st California Volunteer Cavalry/ 1861 and the 1st Arkansas ( U.S.) Volunteer Cavalry 1863. A copy of the research letter is available. Mechanics are good as is the bore. Naval scene on cylinder is worn off.  Barrel address is strong. These martially marked navies with the brass back straps and trigger guards usually were shipped to the U.S. Army, typically used by cavalry units. The serial number places the gun in 1856. Screw heads are very good. Cylinder has marred finish area. An overall good condition rare military used Colt navy. Please review pictures to help assess condition. Thank you for looking!
$2100.00 shipped. Will consider comparable trade.
