Description:
NEW YORK STATE TIP-UP SINGLE SHOT .32 RIMFIRE CAL. BRASS FRAME PISTOL CIRCA 1860’S. 5” rifled octagon barrel with external extractor on right side at the breech. Slotted for front sight now missing. Unmarked but exhibiting features of the style and craftsmanship of New York makers such as William Billinghurst, Myron Moses and A. H. Plimpton. Ornate rosewood target grip and hammer tang much in the style of Billinghurst. Unique and probably only one exactly like it. Very good overall and in working order. New York State makers in the 1800s were numerous, active and creative in firearms design and manufacture.
