Belgian Copy of the Colt SINGLE ACTION ARMY
Here we present a C&R Belgian Cowboy Ranger Single Action Army Style Revolver chambered in .38 Long Colt, manufactured as early as 1911 through the late 1930s in Liege, Belgium. Back before World War I, everybody wanted to be a cowboy; And a Texas Ranger. Belgian gunmakers wanted to make that somewhat possible by producing an inexpensive revolver styled roughly along the lines of the famous Colt Single Action Army revolver. But, there were some changes. The caliber was .38 Long Colt and the design was altered for double-action operation. But in keeping with the inexpensive nature of this model, they were offered through catalogs including Sears & Roebuck and Montgomery Wards up through the Depression years.
This example has been around the block. Semi-bright bore, dimming at the muzzle and nicely rifled. The action partially functions (double action does not function, freewheeling cylinder and does not index). Secure grips in good shape containing definitive handling wear. “108” is tamed on the left side of the frame. Markings on the left side of barrel are obfuscated. “COWBOY/RANGER” can be read atop the frame.
