Offered is a Colt Police Positive Target .22 caliber that dates to 1938. The gun is in above average condition with 98% of its bluing and just some light freckling. It is mechanically perfect and the bore is excellent. The original checkered walnut grips are free from cracks and chips and remain in new condition. The Police Positive Target was first offered in 1910 with the small frame version and then in 1926 Colt went to the slightly larger frame that was much easier to grip with its larger checkered walnut stocks and checkered backstrap. This gun is the 2nd model with an improved frame size. These small frame target revolvers are often overlooked by collectors but are the same quality as the medium frame Officers Model Target or the large frame New Service Target. If you have been looking for a great small frame target revolver to collect or shoot you have just found it. I have collected these for the past 35 years and did a display at the Colt Collectors Association show this past October, please see the photo at the end of the pictures shown. I offer a three-day non-firing inspection period and always want the buyer to be satisfied with their purchase. The gun will be packed correctly and shipped via FedEx with insurance to your FFL dealer in the continental United States for $55 (California is extra because I have to ship through my local dealer). This gun requires a C&R or FFL license for transfer. I ship the following day after the payment arrives and provide tracking information.
