Description:
This is an extremely rare original first model Henry Rifle hickory 4 piece cleaning rod, designed to be stored in the compartment of the butt stock. From a Henry rifle in the low 2000's serial number range.
These rod were only used in the earliest rifles, later ones had all steel rods. This rod has had one of the sections modified or replaced most likely during time of use. This piece could easly be replaced with a more original configuation piece. Original condition rods such as these have sold at R. A. house in Illinois recently for 5000.00 plus. Priced to sell, accepting offers. total length 27".
