Description:
This is an excellent example of the incredibly scarce Joslyn Monkey Tail Carbine. This example is better then most collectors will see. This example shows approximately 65-70% original brown on the barrel. The lock shows approximately 30-40% silvered out case colors and is marked properly “A.H. Waters & Co”. The monkey tail design exhibits approximately 60-70% of its original color case hardened finish. The stock is very good to fine overall showing feathering remaining and visible. There is a small chip out of the toe of the stock and a small chip out of the left top buttplate tang of the stock also. Mechanically appears to function as it should. Good bore overall. .54caliber. The brass shows a nice aged mustard patina appearance. Only approximately 1,500 of these were manufactured between 1855 and 1856 making this one of the scarcer carbine variations. Out of the few I’ve seen, this is certainly one of the finest! Shipping is $50 plus actual insurance. Insurance cost can be chosen by the buyer! Thanks!
