Description: SOLD PENDING RECEIPT OF FUNDS. THANKS BEN! Remington Model 700 BDL from 1969 in .30-06. Early style narrow forend and pressed checkering. Early style rear sight, which I much prefer, and front sight has its original hood. Stock has only a few minor handling marks. Monte Carlo, but low in height, with cheek piece. Has sling swivel studs, which I assume are factory. In any event they are installed correctly. Metal is excellent plus, with again just a few handling marks. 22" barrel, and receiver is quite clean. No marks from mounts, but I know it has been scoped as I removed the mounts. It has been very well cared for, that much is certain. Jeweled bolt from Remington, and overall the lines of this rifle are quite good to my eye especially again with that narrow forend. SO much more svelte than the larger later examples at least in my opinion. Even with the Pressed checkering. I always thought myself a Winchester guy, but boy the pressed Checkering from Winchester post '64 was really lousy for a few years compared to Remington's. I bought this rifle as it was trim, not too heavy at 7lbs 4 oz., and was going to be scoped up and used by me. It's just the Winchester guy in me again, but if it only had a 24" inch barrel I would consider it about perfect. :) Just not much you can't do with this rifle in this caliber. 180 grain bullet out of an '06 is still big medicine today, just as it was in 1969. Especially so with today's ammunition. Too many guns and too little time I guess as I never got around to using this one. Feel free to call or email with questions. Shipping is $50. for a well packed rifle in a correct box via FedEx Ground. Sorry aobut the $50, but my Listing prices, shipping prices and the price of my boxes have all gone up.
