Description:
SPECIAL ORDER 1894, HALF OCTAGON BARREL, HALF MAGAZINE AND SHOTGUN BUTT, .30WCF CALIBER, #506XXX, MADE 1911. This unusual 1894 shows fine deep barrel blue with the lightest of edge wear/age only. The receiver shows good thinning blue on the left side with a bit more wear to the blue on the forward portion of the right side. fine blue on the loading gate with the balance mostly gray. Excellent markings, buckhorn rear sight with elevator bar does not appear to be of Winchester manufacture, but correct and appears to have been on the rifle for decades. Front sight is a Marbles No.3 short blade/ivory bead. Fine stock and forend (a little honest saddle wear on the forend ahead of the receiver) showing normal light handling only with tight wood to metal fit and one tiny, hard to see corner chip from the upper right side receiver juncture- very minor. Tight action and exc. bore that at worst is slightly dark. Checkered steel butt plate. A fine, unfooled with special order 111 year old 1894!
