Description:
Desirable Chicago protector palm pistol with original shipping box and parts list. One of only approximately 12,800 protector palm pistols manufactured by Chicago Firearms Co. during the 1890s. This examples features a nickel finish with hard rubber panels on either side of the receiver as well as on the trigger. Left panel is marked "Chicago Firearms Co." and "Chicago, Illinois." The right side marked "The Protector" above the patent information. Barrel is lightly engraved with a floral motif band. Right side of frame bears a light floral and line design with the left side exhibiting a knurled pattern. Matching numbers are found on the interior of the removeable side plate as well as on the cylinder. This example is accompanied by an original paper parts list as well as an original shipping box featuring a graphic of the protector pistol and containing a cleaning rod. Interior of box features directions for use as well as "Ames Co. Chicopee, Mass." at the bottom. Excellent bore retaining well defined grooves throughout. Hard rubber panels are excellent. Original factory box shows some wear as expected. Original parts list shows proper aging with a small loss in crease. A very fine example of a desirable turn of the century protector palm pistol.
