This is a 4 piece set of cleaning rods for an 1866 or 1873 standard sporting rifle but it could be for a Whitney Kennedy Rifle as well. They have the brass tip which would be correct for Winchesters produced prior to the early 1890's at which time the factory went to steel tips or jags. Looking at these closely, I'm not 100% convinced these are original but if not, they are very very close to the originals and they appear as though they were made a long time ago. The shafts measure correctly at approx. .23", the brass jag is spot on, and the loop is filed correctly but the eyelet for the cleaning patch looks a little more like it was drilled rather than punched out like an original. The threads per inch appear to be correct but slightly larger as an original Winchester section will screw right in, but the shaft ends are a little larger diameter so not quite vice versa without some effort. With original sets selling for $500 and up, this would be an economical alternative to fill that empty cleaning compartment in the buttstock of your 1866 or 1873. $7.95 shipping via USPS Priority Mail.
