Description:
General Specs: Browning, Year 2007, 16 Gauge, 6lbs 4oz both, Chokes Briley screw-ins
Serial Number: 324MT04632

The Browning Superposed is one of the finest over/under shotguns in history and one of John Browning’s most brilliant designs.  Produced in plain-jane field grades to the most elaborately engraved and finely stocked shotguns ever seen, production of the Browning Superposed was done in Belgium, running strong from 1931 through 1977 when traditional production stopped.  Production continued in the FN Custom Shop with the Presentation Series through 1984.  Today, most Americans are unaware that you can still buy a Belgium made, hand-fitted Superposed Browning B25, as they are not offered at most Browning dealers, and most are sold in Great Britain and Europe.  In fact, 20% of all guns at the British “castle” shoots (driven bird shoots) are Browning B25 guns, making it the second most popular gun of any maker being used by the elite gunners in Great Britain.  This amazing B25 is the “Chasse” Model, Windsor Grade, built in the ultra-rare 16 gauge, with 2 sets of barrels housed in a fine leather Browning case.  The wood on the gun is true EXHIBITION TURKISH WALNUT with luxurious figure, fine checkering with a chain border, finely chiseled drop points, meticulously fitted to the sideplated action, a Schnabel tipped 3-piece forend, all with a hand-rubbed oil finish to bring out the depth of beauty found in the wood.  The action, forend metal, and trigger guard are hand-engraved by Jean-marie Martens with deeply chiseled vine and floral scroll, shaded backgrounds, profuse bulino game scenes, gold inlays, all done to world-class standards.  Just spend some time with the photos and words are no longer required.  THIS IS FINE ART IN METAL THAT IS BECOMING INCREASINGLY RARE TO FIND IN THIS MODERN AGE OF MACHINE ENGRAVING.  The gun is stocked with an English grip with a 14 7/8” LOP to a checkered butt.  The 28” and 30” barrels have versatile Briley thin-walled screw-in chokes allowing this set to be utilized for all the shotgun sports.  Some may ask “Why a 16 gauge”?  To the knowledgeable shotgunner the answer is as obvious as the old saying “carries like a 20, hits like a 12”.  This gun weighs in at 6lbs. 4oz. and balances perfectly ¼” ahead of the hinge pin, allowing for comfortable carry all day long without the fatigue brought on by 12ga guns that weigh well over 7lbs.  16 gauge loads are readily available from ¾ ounce to 1 1/8 ounce in lead and non-toxic pellets, making it far more versatile than the 20ga.  The 16 gauge is the perfect “square load”, with a shot column as high as it is round, producing short shot strings and more pellets on target than the same load in a 20ga.  That is versatility good for woodcock and quail to wild pheasants and waterfowl!  You can order this same set up today and spend over $100,000 and then wait 2 years for delivery, or you can buy this near new Browning B25 Windsor Grade at a fraction of that price and have it now.  This is an investment…a work of art you can utilize in the field or at the club, and it will enrich you, your estate, and the next owner of such a rare and beautiful firearm.  Thanks for looking!
