Description:
Serial #771895, .22 WRF, 24" octagon barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a 3rd Model rifle that has retained about 50-60% of the original blue on the barrel, with the balance having faded to a mellow plum-brown color, and silvering along the edges of the barrel facets. The frame has a more ruddy brown patina with patches of thin surface freckling scattered about, and mottled gray metal is present on the wrist tangs. The grooved walnut forend is in fine shape, with some minor handling marks in the original oil finish. The buttstock has some further handling marks and surface blemishes on either side, as well as a single hairline drying crack running back from the tip of the bottom tang. This is a very nice example of a late production Model 90, in very good condition, and would make a good representative example for a collection. FFL or C&R
