Description:
Savage Model 720 Training Gun was one of only 14,500 total Model 720's (both Riot and Training guns) delivered to the U.S. government in 1943 and 1944.  This was essentially the same gun as the Browning designed Remington Model 11, but was made under license by the Savage Arms Corp.  The gun is in excellent condition with 90+ percent of the original blue.  It has the correct "flaming bomb", P proof and "US" markings in the correct locations.  It has a 26" barrel and has the four "****" markings for guns choked Full or Inproved Cylinder.  This gun is Improved Cylinder.  Wood is in very good condition, with only a small crack that has been repaired on the forend.  The long finger groove on the forend and the bead on ramp front sight means originality of the M720 barrel and forend.  This is a very scarce dand desirable Combat Shotgun for the WWII era.
