The pre war Non-Registered Magnum is much more scarce than the Registered Magnum with only about 1400 manufactured compared to over 5,000 Registered Magnums and only a handful of Non-Registered Magnums were shipped with the custom ordered 8-3/4" barrel length, so needless to say this one is a rare specimen!!
This one is in excellent condition and wears a period correct set of S&W Magna checkered stocks. This is an ALL NUMBERS matching S&W with the exception of the stocks which are numbered, but not to the gun. Also has the "HUMPBACK" hammer. The front sight is a gold bead with a "U" notch adjustable rear sight. The metal condition is excellent and the finish is 100% original. The box is correct, but no visible number is seen on it and the box contains some paperwork, tissue and an original SAT (Sight Adjustment Tool) which is in itself hard to find. Also includes the S&W Historical letter that confirms the configuration. You would be hard pressed to find an example of a pre-war Non-Registered Magnum in this condition with all of these extras!!
