Scarce transition era .270 Win. Super Grade. SN 77*** with matching scribed bolt made in 1947. 97% Blue, 96% Varnish. 24" standard weight barrel. Bore and mechanics are excellent. Transition era guns are typically those made between 1946 and 1948 and have a few unique features such as the pre war style clover leaf tang and "clam shell" or "rabbit's foot" safety lever. All correct SG components are present including deluxe stock, properly stamped floor plate, robust detachable swivels, a 255 height Redfield gold bead front sight, etc. The rear sight is a factory option Lyman 48 WJS with a correct Lyman 12S filler in the rear sight dovetail. This is a nice rifle in a somewhat difficult to find caliber/configuration that will make someone a great collectible shooter.
