For sale is a Litschert/Weaver scope, Should be 8 1/2 Power, with a "Varmint Master" booster added to a Sears (Weaver) 3X scope. Weaver made scopes for Sears, and they were produced with exactly the same stampings as the Weaver scopes, except They said, "Sears." The tube is 1 inch. Rear Eyepiece is about 1 3/8." The Front Objective is just a smidge under 1 3/8 inches. The Litschert Booster says "8x" and it also says "K2.5," so I would conclude that with this scope, even though a Sears, it it essentially a Weaver K3, that the nominal power would end up being 8 1/2x. I just love these older Litschert Boosters. They were for the "Working Man." The man that had an ordinary job, who loved to hunt and fish, and took care of his family, and wanted to upgrade to a little more power for his hunting rifle. The Litschert Boosters fit the bill--you could put them on any 3/4, 7/8, or 1 inch scope that you had and get an instant power increase at a reduced price as compared to buying a higher power scope at more money. Back then, every penny counted!!!!! The markings read, "Sears 3X." "USA . PAT. NO. 2949815." The scope is in overall excellent condition. It measures 15 1/8" in length overall. Standard Crosshair Reticle. Just a wonderfully clean, vintage scope that is not-that-all common, and has long, narrow lines that will work on just about any of the older rifles out there. It would look great on about anything from the 1950's. Back in those days, Scope manufacturers were very keenly aware of the guns that their scopes were to go on--Take a look at the Weaver K8 and k10 Scopes--they just look wonderful on a Remington 721 or 722 with the longer 26" barrels. The pictures basically tell the story. Email or call me if you have any questions. You are buying this scope not only for its practicality, but for the aesthetic quality as well. I have always liked things that were a little bit unique and different, and this scope on a vintage rifle fits that bill to a "T. If you want a unique scope for a special 1950's gun, this one is hard to beat. SOLD |
