Description:
This is a very interesting and svelte over/under 16 gauge with a solid rib, english stock and 2.75” chambers. It is the lightest 16 ga O/U I’ve come across, weighing 5lbs 11oz (5.86lbs). It has a Petrik inspired sliding top latch with a hold open top lever and solid rib barrels that measure just a smidge under 27” and St. Etienne proof marks. This is an extractor gun. The rounded action is very narrow, only about 1 ¼ inches wide. It is choked .021 (improved modified) and .031 (full). It has an interesting side-lever safety that actually blocks the firing pins instead of preventing trigger pull.
The gun has some dings and scratches in the stock, but no cracks that I can detect. Length of pull is 14.25” to the front trigger, 13.375” to rear trigger over a microcell pad. The wood is 13” from the front trigger. DAC is 1.5 and DAH is 2.4”.
The action is in good shape with case coloring remaining, the bottom of the action is worn clean. The barrels appear to have been re-blued at some point and look good with a couple of small spots on the exterior. The bores are clean with some very light speckling, but no pitting at all.
Very cool, rarely seen over under 16-gauge gun. With the light weight, rounded action, it feels lively and magical in the hands.
