Savage Model 99 Takedown fitted with a 22 inch tapered barrel, ivory bead front sight, Lyman tang sight, checkered walnut forearm with a schnabel forend, checkered walnut pistol grip stock fitted with a serrated steel butt-plate and checkered hard-rubber grip cap, cartridge counter on left side of receiver, is blue finished, and chambered in the hot for its day, 250-3000 (.250 Savage) cartridge. This 1915 vintage rifle is in very fine condition, retaining approximately 50% blue on the barrel and 30% on the receiver. The lever retains 20-25% original color care-hardened finish and the butt-plate has turned a silver/grey patina. The stock and forearm fit well, with sharp checkering, with no visible repairs and no cracks or chips. The bore is shootable, with visible rifling, but the grooves are frosty throughout. The action functions well and the barrel to receiver fit is tight. Comes with a vintage Brauer 1 1/4 inch sling. Nice gun. CURIO & RELIC.
