28in replacement barrels by Gallyon and Sons, Birmingham proved for 2 ½” Nitro, 3 ton 1 1/8oz loads. Choked ¼ (Improved Cyl) right and ¾ (Improved Modified) left.
Excellent bore condition both sized at .726, minimum wall R .032 L .034
Well figured stock with great checkering and finish throughout with14 ¾” length of pull to the center of a London orange Silvers pad.
1 3/8" comb 1 7/8" heal x 1/8 cast off for a right handed shooter.
Weighing 6lbs, 9oz it is presented in a high condition period leather case inclusive of 2 piece cleaning rod and replacement set and trunk straps.
The maker kindly confirmed the provenance as having been built a British military commander whom became part of “Winston’s Specials” in WWII.
