Description:
Very large (20 1/2") holster pistol circa early 18th Century signed in multiple places by Georg Adam Mann of Eberschwang (Austria).  13 1/2" steel barrel is deeply carved and engraved.  5 1/2" flat steel lock is engraved with men on horseback.  Long eared brass buttcap is engraved on both sides and has a high profile grotesque mask.  Brass trigger guard and ramrod pipes are deeply engraves.  Pierced and inset side plate shows a man in a sleigh peing pulled by a lion.  The brass coat of arms on the escutcheon indicates an owner of some importance.  Original horn tipped rammer.
